I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare
to see a great blog like this one nowadays.

First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind
before writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Appreciate it!

“unknown beetle” Isn’t that the volkswagenisius beetleensia. It looks quite small but it is very strong like many beetle species. Seriously, I also take pictures like that and label them with names like unknown “blank” too.

I had to look up those names… ah, those obscure (to some of us ;) ) movie references. I found this quote, which feels apropos:

Diane Court: Nobody thinks it will work, do they?
Lloyd Dobler: No. You just described every great success story.

First off I have no idea how I even came to find your site or more so I have no idea why I am even leaving a comment. Your ignorance is most likely why I am commenting.

I used to run a free hosting service that relied on pop-up?s and banner ads for income. People could run a completely free website using a top known CMS, we would even give them support over the phone and free custom logos.

A few weeks after the banner/popup plug-in came out for Firefox someone posted it in our support forums and the first month we saw a 35% drop in advertisement funds. Within 4 months we could not afford to keep our service up and running. This service was a hobby for us, it’s not like we were making huge money, we actually made just enough to keep it up and running.

So after reading your rant I figured maybe, just maybe after hearing my story you might realize from the business side these people are completely within their rights to block Firefox.

One thing I would like to point out, one the pop-up?s I had on my site was from Pennywise Advertising which was for ?Get Firefox?. So how ironic is that? Firefox blocking its own growth, I thought that was pretty funny.

We didn?t catch the post in the forums until another user told us about it. After doing some research we found that the day it was posted Firefox went from somewhere around 25% to over 80%. So figure 80% of our users were not seeing any of our ads.

If you don’t like the ads, don?t go to the site. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand the pop-up?s either however I feel this plug-in will destroy many small (useful) businesses like it did mine.

I don?t know what you do for a living, I don’t really care. It was your lack of knowledge and complete ignorance that drew me to write. I can?t stand people who write about something they don?t know from jack and word it like they think they know it all. You are obviously educated but being school smart and knowing what the hell you?re talking about are two entirely different things.

Let me make something perfectly clear, I love Firefox. I am not the typical Microsoft Hater. I feel Microsoft has great products just like everyone else.
Peace- BigD

“I remember as a teenager, I went to Warsaw, when it was still a strict Communist regime? which I don?t approve of at all.

Sure you don?t?

No, I don?t?

No, I?m just kidding!

But anyway, something about being there was interesting, I found. After a couple of weeks, something changed in me. The city was quite gloomy and gray? but after a while, my brain seemed clearer. I was writing a lot more in my journal, ideas I never thought of before.

Communist ideas?

Listen, I?m not?

I?m sorry? Go on?

I?ll send you to a Gulag later. No? but it took me a while to figure out why it felt, you know so different. And then, one day, as I was walking through the Jewish cemetery, I don?t know why, but it occurred to me there, I realized that I had spent the last 2 weeks away from most of my habits. TV was in a language I didn?t understand. There was nothing to buy, no advertisements anywhere. So, all I?d been doing was walk around, think and write. My brain felt like it was at rest, free from the consuming frenzy. And I have to say, it was almost like a natural high. I felt so peaceful inside, no strange urge to be somewhere else, to shop? Maybe it could?ve seemed like boredom at first, but it quickly became very, very soulful. It?s interesting, you know?”

The title alone reminded me of that scene…

Nice site.

I looked up Ukraine in Wikipedia and found this note under etymology:
“In English, the country is sometimes referred to with the definite article, the Ukraine, as in the Netherlands, the Gambia, the Sudan or the Congo. However, usage without the article is becoming more frequent, and has become established in journalism and diplomacy since the country’s independence (for example, within the style guides of The Economist, The Guardian and The Times).”

Television sucks. Never mind what little good it might do, television is a stupid invention. Kill your teevee. Don’t give it away, don’t save it for just in case you feel like being stupid - just take it out back and shoot it several times. Life is *much* better without it.

(Was going through old bookmarks and found you in there, then saw this anti-teevee post and had to give it a positive nod even though you got that captcha thing down below)

-if you hear someone with the “ringtone” you might want to enlighten them, everyone deserves education. suggest some better, healthier, cheaper places to eat. you might tell them that the ringtones they have adopted are the attempt of the fast food business, trying their best, to attract them. that they spend millions of dollars attracting them to their “healthy", and “cheap meals.” not to mention the “support programs"(you know, to the “needy” blacks who need fast food to “get them by", gosh, might even make them a happy family). explain to them that they are the target of the fast food’s business campaign- poor, uneducated, minorities. the whole thing makes me sick. -amy
